If you are looking to differentiate your resume, earn essential skills that employers value, and grow your professional network -- all from the comfort of home! -- then the API Virtual Global Internship program is for you!

API will match you with an international organization based on your skills, experience, and professional and personal goals. Students will have the opportunity to meet with a career coach to review potential employer matches, learn how to format their resume and statement of purpose to get the position and be enrolled in a career support learning experience to further refine their skills prior to beginning their work experience.

Full and part-time placements are available!

  • Full-time internships will require a commitment of up to 32 hours a week.
  • Part-time internship placements will require a commitment of up to 20 hours per week.

*Participants who wish to earn academic credit through University of Massachusetts Amherst will incur an additional fee of $750. Full-time placements offer 6 credits and part-time placements offer 3 credits for the 8-week session.

**Participants who complete their internship in Spanish, in a Spanish-speaking country, who wish to earn academic credit (3 US semester credits) through Universidad de Congreso will incur an additional fee of $750. In order to receive credit in Spanish for your internship, you must: 1) be interning in a Spanish-speaking country; 2) be completing your internship 100% in Spanish; 3) have taken at least 2 Spanish classes at the 300 level or above, or demonstrate written and oral proficiency at the equivalent level.

What You’ll Study

Work with our Careers team to find a virtual internship that supports your skillset and will put you on a path to realizing your career goals! Once you've applied, our team will get you interview ready with support for resume reviews and placement coaching. Students will work up to 35 hours per week, depending on your location and placement.

Please note that areas with the most potential for virtual internship 8-week placement include Business, Marketing, and Economics.
